The Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL) Network recognizes a basic feature of academic careers that is sometimes ignored (or at least downplayed)—namely, that academic careers require both research and teaching. As such, the CIRTL Network website provides a number of resources to graduate students, postdocs, and faculty members working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) disciplines that are designed to teach how to effectively grow both as a researcher and an educator. These resources include a “latest news” page that includes information about faculty searches and upcoming CIRTL events, a collection of pertinent literature citations and presentations, as well as a number of interactive features such as the Coffee Hour. To sit in on these webinars, one simply needs create a free account on the site to gain access to the Blackboard Collaborate room.
