Biology I Lite

  • Rated
  • Customizable quizzes
  • Limited question bank in free version

This app by Bold Type Media is not only a nice addition to any student’s study regimen, but it is also a great general resource for anybody looking to learn a bit of biology. Covering topics presented in a typical college freshman biology course, the Biology I Lite app contains questions in 25 categories. These include chemistry of life, Mendel, and phylogeny. As you may have guessed from the “Lite” designation, this particular app is, in fact, a smaller and more limited free version of the full Biology I Lite. The distinction is in the number of questions included in the apps. Whereas the Lite version contains only five questions in each category, the complete app contains over 1,000 questions in total. In both versions, users can create customized quizzes from the question banks by specifying the topics to be included, the number of questions, and the time limit.
