Summary:

Dr. Alex Wild is a biologist with a Ph.D. in entomology. He is also an incredible photographer. Put those two things together and you get a stunning glimpse into the world of insects, which you can explore on the Alex Wild Photography website. Users can browse the photos in groups categorized either by taxonomic order or by so-called “stories” – these include general categories such as parasites and parasitoids, death by fungus, and mosquitoes. The website includes information about image use (teachers can use the photos in their classrooms for free), as well as the option to purchase prints or greeting cards using the photos. (Nothing says “happy birthday” like an up-close shot of spider fangs…) Additionally there is a link on the website to Dr. Wild’s blog, which contains a number of interesting entries related to insects in general and insect-related news topics.
