Director of Applications Development Jeffrey Rohrer, Ph.D.

<p> Jeff earned his Ph. D in chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry from the University of Delaware. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship in the Biochemistry Department at North Carolina State University, Jeff joined Thermo Fisher Scientific (formerly Dionex Corporation) where he has worked the past 24 years. Dr. Rohrer is the Director of Applications Development, Dionex Products, including HPAE-PAD for carbohydrate analysis.</p>

Scientifically Studying Ecstasy

MDMA (commonly known as the empathogen “ecstasy”) is classified as a Schedule 1 drug, which is reserved for compounds with no accepted medical use and a high abuse potential. Two researchers from Stanford, however, call for a rigorous scientific exploration of MDMA's effects to identify precisely how the drug works, the data from which could be used to develop therapeutic compounds.
